The Thoreau Institute at Walden Woods Chooses CoreWeb, Inc. for it’s World Wide Waldens Project
Woburn, Mass., November 15, 2005 – CoreWeb, Inc. , a full service web development and consulting practice, today announced that Walden Woods has signed on to create a website that will serve as a catalyst, gathering place, community building toolset, and living resource for its members.
The World Wide Waldens Project will reach a global audience of students and teachers. Its mission is to provide an inspiring educational experience to help young adults understand their relationship with their local environment and culture. Henry Thoreau’s writings and spirit will serve as a touchstone for their reflections and findings. The Project will cultivate the practice of stewardship and civic participation around the globe.

The World Wide Waldens will be internationalized for English and Spanish audiences with a scalable architecture allowing for additional internationalization in the future. A sophisticated content management system will allow the Thoreau staff to manage the content internally and maintain control of the information delvierey on a daily basis. This development will be accomplished using ASP.Net 1.1 using a SQL Server 2000 database.
